OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of Roslyn Elementary School, a diverse,
inclusive learning community, is to provide a nurturing environment that
fosters academic excellence, strong character development and unique
talents and abilities, where all students can reach their maximum
potential and actualize their life goals. Equity in education is
achieved through innovative instruction and research-based curricula
that integrates technology and a discovery approach to educational
growth. A partnership between parents, school and community empowers
students to become lifelong learners and responsible contributing
citizens who demonstrate respect, honesty, cooperation, kindness and
tolerance in an ever-changing world.

2011-2012

Continue the rising trajectory of Roslyn’s PSSA scores in
all academic areas.

Utilize Skyward effectively. Work with teachers to
understand the capabilities of the system so they can work smarter and
not harder!
·
Engage parents during the school day and give them an
opportunity to be comfortable in the school environment.
·
Give teachers an opportunity to reflect on their own
professional practice to continue to become better educators.
·
Limit costs as much as possible given today’s economic
climate.
·
Verbally appreciate the hard work and commitment the staff
does for children on a daily basis.
·
Find time to laugh with kids everyday!
There are
countless ways of achieving greatness,
but any road
to achieving one's maximum potential must be built
on a bedrock
of respect for the individual,
a commitment
to excellence,
and a
rejection of mediocrity.
