About ASD > General Information > Toll-Free Anti-Violence Tip Line

The Abington Police Department, in cooperation with Abington School District and C.A.P.T. (Citizens and Police Together), has set up a toll-free anti-violence tip line to provide Abington School District students and residents an easy means to anonymously report potential acts of school violence or criminal activity.

The line will be monitored by Abington police officers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This is not a replacement for the 9-1-1 emergency system. If there is an emergency need for immediate police response, the 9-1-1 number should be used.

The 1-877-APD-TIPS line allows students in Abington School District to report any suspicious behavior or activity. It is funded by grants provided to conduct Community Policing and Anti-Crime programs.

C.A.P.T. has obtained 10,000 key chains promoting the 1-877-APD-TIPS line which will be distributed to students in Abington secondary schools as well as in the community.
