CONGRATULATIONS, MR. WARD!

 

For 41 years, Mr. Dennis Ward has been a physical education teacher at Highland.  This year, Mr. Ward will retire from Abington School District.  He will be greatly missed by the students and their parents, some of whom were also taught by Mr. Ward.  The PTO will be presenting a retirement gift to Mr. Ward at the Flag Lowering Ceremony on Friday, June 18th.  We hope that you can make it to the ceremony to help us celebrate 41 great years with Mr. Ward.

The 2009-2010 school year is coming to a close, but the PTO is already planning for September!  Mark these dates on your calendar for the new school year:

 

a The First Day of School is Tuesday, September 7th, 2010.  The PTO will be holding their annual Welcome Breakfast, so plan for a morning greeting old and new friends!

a The Fall Picnic will be held on Friday, September 24th, 2010 (rain date is October 1st).  We will be welcoming new & returning students and families with an evening of fun.  Please contact Joanne Kelly at jpk1222@hotmail.com if you would like to help.

a Our 2nd Annual Race of Education will be held on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 (rain date is November 5th).  Please contact Chris Lavallie at lavallies@yahoo.com or Suzanne Smyth at ssmyth2032@comcast.net if you would like to help.

Congratulations to the Sixth Grade!  We will miss you!  Don’t forget to come back and visit.
