Art Department
Art is a recognized vital component of a
complete education. The art program consists of a viable and strong
design-based curriculum. Our art classes strive to give students the opportunity
to experience several different art forms including both two and
three-dimensional assignments. Technology is becoming an integral aspect of the
art program, offering students the opportunity to use the most current tools
available with which to express themselves. Students will also study the
vocabulary, history, aesthetics, and criticism as interrelated components in a
sequential art program to be able to analyze and to appreciate works of art
that they create and study. Art is taught as part of the seventh grade
Connected Learning cycle rotation and as an elective in the eighth and ninth
grades.
