Technology Education at
Abington
Junior High School includes
instruction in computers as well as in metal, woods, plastics, graphics, and
mechanical drawing. Classes in computer literacy and software applications,
including Multi-Media presentations, are included in the cycle program in
grade seven and as electives in grades eight and nine. Instruction in the arts
of metal, plastic, and wood construction are part of the grade eight cycle
program. Graphics, and Applied Technology are electives available to students in grade nine. Advanced Modular
Technology, part of the cycle program in grade 8, includes topics such as graphic design, aerodynamics, space and
rocketry, fiber optics, biotechnology, and meteorology. All of these courses
integrate computer technology with hands-on experiences to develop practical
skills for the 21st century.
