Description
The science club is involved in
three major competitions throughout the year. In
the fall, students participate in the Widener
Mousetrap Competition where students design and
build a device that uses a simple mousetrap as
power to accomplish a certain task. In the
spring, students participate in the Science
Olympiad and the Envirothon.
Both of these competitions are a mix of academic
and hands on competitions that involve many
schools from our region.
We also have several other
activities that we do in between these major
competitions. The club activities include guest
speakers on occasion, bridge building, bottle
rockets, field trips, some organized cleanups of
our community, and the Hershey Park Physics Day
which is a great reward for being active in
Science Club all year long.
