Rydal Elementary welcomes our new principal, Ms. Stephanie Viola

As your new principal, it is with much excitement that I join the Rydal community!  My family and I have been fortunate to be able to relocate to Pennsylvania after living in NY and NJ for the past several years.  Professionally, I have been an administrator for eight years in a large suburban district outside New York City.  I was an assistant principal for three years and a principal for five years. Prior to that, I taught in both NYC and Philadelphia.  My educational background includes a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a MA from New York University and currently, I am working towards my doctorate at Fordham University. Personally, my husband and I have two young boys and we are happy to be in Pennsylvania to be closer to extended family.

After having the opportunity to get to know different staff members and parents throughout the Abington School District, I feel privileged to become part of this exceptional district.  It is evident that the families and staff of Rydal Elementary School work together to foster the best possible learning environment for our children.  Rydal students are achieving at high levels due to the dedication of our staff, students and families and the quality of our educational program.  Knowing that Rydal Elementary School has such a strong commitment to excellence and proven results makes me proud already!

Over the first few months of the new school year, my priority will be to get to know each child and each family.  I look forward to making Rydal my new home!
