Seniors: Application Time!
It is very important that you consult with your School Counselor early this year to determine the best course of action. Whether you will be applying to college, trade school, internship or a lucrative job opportunity your counselor can support your application and advise you appropriately.
As you start your applications, please be sure to note your deadlines and other supporting material that will need to be sent with your applications. All Transcript information must be sent directly from Abington High School so it is important you share your plans with your School Counselor.
Juniors:
Continue to strengthen your academic profile by working extremely hard this year. This is the last full year of academics before you apply to four-year post secondary schools. Having a strong junior year helps to validate your work ethic and sends a strong message to post secondary institutions about your desire to continue your education. Start evaluating colleges, prepare to take the SAT /ACT and consult often with your School Counselor.
Sophomores:
Welcome to the High School……
This year will be an important transition year as you continue to build the early portions of your academic profile. Believe it or not, your ninth grade year started your official transcript so we look for our sophomores to continue working hard each and every day. If you had a great ninth grade year, continue this trend here at the high school. If you may not have done as well as you would have liked, your sophomore year is a great time to turn things around and prove to potential colleges, trade-schools, employers, etc that you are serious about your education and your future. Your School Counselor will help you with this transition and can advise you appropriately.
Parents
