How to take a Screenshot on a Computer

  • You can easily take a screenshot in Google Chrome by adding a Screenshot Chrome Extension such as Scrn.li or Screenshot
  • DID YOU KNOW??? – When you take a screenshot it’s stored temporarily on your computer’s “clipboard.”  Then you can PASTE your screenshot onto a blank PowerPoint Slide or a blank Google Slide and crop it, edit it, annotate on it, etc.  (Push “CTRL + V” on a Windows PC & a Chromebook to paste or push “Cmd + V” on a Mac to paste your screenshot.) 
  • But what if you wanted to take a screenshot outside of Google Chrome?  Here are some keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Chromebook FULL ScreenshotPress the “CTRL + Show Windows” buttons at the same time
  • Chromebook PARTIAL ScreenshotPress the “CTRL + SHIFT + Show Windows” buttons at the same time

  • Windows PC DESKTOP Keyboard FULL Screenshot: Press the “Windows Logo Key + Print Screen” buttons at the same time. (Print Screen key is sometimes abbreviated “Prt Scr”)
  • Windows PC LAPTOP Keyboard FULL Screenshot: Press the “FN Key + Print Screen” buttons at the same time. (Print Screen key is sometimes abbreviated “Prt Scr”)
  • Windows PC PARTIAL Screenshot: Press the “Win Logo Key + SHIFT + S” buttons at the same time
