    Abington Township presents the 34th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Service, on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 12:00 noon. The location is Abington Senior High School Auditorium. The Memorial will include tributes by Overlook and Rydal Elementary Schools and Abington Junior High School. Honorable Kelley B. Hodge, Esq., will receive the 34th Annual Memorial Award. Special recognition will be given to Bernard Griggs, Jr.

  • Abington Free Library - Doggone Good Readers Program
    Children in grades 1-6 are invited to practice reading aloud in small groups to registered therapy dogs on four Saturdays--Jan. 5, Feb. 2, March 2, and April 6, 2019--at Abington Free Library. Two reading sessions--10:15-10:45 a.m. and 11:00-11:30 a.m.--will be offered on each date. Children may bring their own books or choose from a selection provided by the library. Spilling words, colors, and images in your journal can be like a big, long sigh of relief. Learn new mixed-media techniques (watercolor, stamps, gesso, collages) for free expression.
