  • Abington Free Library - Doggone Good Readers Therapy Dog Reading Program
    Children in grades 1-6 are invited to practice reading aloud to registered therapy dogs on two Saturdays--Nov. 2 and Dec. 7--at Abington Free Library. Two sessions--10:15-10:45 a.m. (small-group reading) and 11:00-11:30 a.m. (one-on-one reading)--will be offered on each date. Children may bring their own books or choose from a selection provided by the library. Online registration is underway at abingtonfreelibrary.org and will continue until all spaces are filled.

    Wednesday, Nov. 6 3:30-4:30 pm at Abington Free Library. For ages 9 & up. Do you like new tech toys? At this drop-in program, you'll experiment with a micro:bit, a tiny programmable computer, with help from a librarian. You can also borrow a micro:bit kit and experiment at home.   • DIY Pet Toys
    Wed, Nov 13, 7-8 pm at Abington Free Library. For children, teens, and adults ages 8 & up. Teens receive service hours! Create your own cat & dog toys out of recycled materials. Toys will be donated to a local animal shelter and you can take toys home for your own pets, too. Some supplies will be provided but donated supplies are welcome, including clean towels, jeans, t-shirts, socks (especially baby or kids size), plastic bottles, and tennis balls.

    Saturday, Nov 23 10 am - 1 pm at Abington Free Library. Registration required. Take a free full-length practice SAT exam, proctored under authentic conditions. Score reports and detailed error analysis from Intellegym's SAT Diagnostic Grader will be available on the same day. These reports allow students to focus their SAT preparation on their areas of greatest need and greatest strategic value.
