Children in grades 1-5 are invited to practice reading aloud to registered therapy dogs on three Saturdays--Oct. 7, Nov. 4, and Dec. 2--at Abington Free Library. Two sessions--10:00-10:30 a.m. and 10:45-11:15 a.m.--will be offered on each date in the library's Community Room. Children may bring their own books or choose from a selection provided by the library. Advance registration is required; sign up online at abingtonfreelibrary.org/events. Does your child ages 4-7 like to paint or draw? This fall/winter we will offer a Night Chameleon Pointillism Painting class (November 14) and a Snowfall Fight! mixed media class (January 9). Both Zoom sessions will start at 6:30 p.m. and feature live guided instruction by local artist Anita Thompson. Art supply kits will be provided. LGBTQ+ kids & allies in kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to join Rainbow Connections! Meet new friends and talk about LGBTQ+ themed books and topics in a safe space. Parents & caregivers are encouraged to attend this child-centered program. Children are encouraged to dress up in costumes. There will be a costume contest with prizes and Halloween-themed music, games, and a craft. Register beginning September 25 at abingtonfreelibrary.org/events.

The Abington Educational Foundation (AEF) is thrilled to announce its upcoming four-day Carnival to bring the Abington School District community together in celebration of the organization's 30th Anniversary! The Carnival, which takes place Thursday 9/28 through Sunday 10/1, will feature major rides, kiddie rides, fun carnival games and prizes, delicious carnival treats and local food trucks, and live music provided by Abington's own M3 bands and singers!
