  • Celebrate MLK Day at Woodmere!
    Woodmere is pleased to announce our upcoming FREE Family Program from 12:30-3 pm on MLK Day, January 19. This event will be held at Woodmere's Charles Knox Smith Hall, at 9201 Germantown Avenue. From 12:30-2 pm, join us for artmaking and stories that focus on legendary figures who bravely stood up for civil rights. At 2 pm, enjoy a special interactive performance of breakdancing and storytelling where children will experience American Civil Rights history in a new way by Hip Hop Fundamentals.

  • Reading Allowed & Carmel Literacy: Helping Every Child Read with Confidence
    Every child deserves to feel confident as a reader. Certified Wilson Reading System(R) tutors provide 1:1 structured literacy multisensory instruction for students who need extra support with reading or dyslexia. Through Carmel Literacy Partners and Reading Allowed, this compassionate, research-based program at Carmel Presbyterian Church in Glenside helps build strong skills, confidence, independence and a lifelong love of reading. Sliding-scale tuition makes support available to every family.

  • Updated: Elementary Day at Penn State Abington Basketball
    Join us for a day of Penn State Abington basketball on Saturday, January 24! Games start at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Free pizza provided in between the two games. Watch the men's basketball team take on the University of Mary Washington at 1 p.m., and the women's team play Cedar Crest College at 3 p.m. Parents/guardians must accompany children during the games.
