  • Abington Free Library Doggone Good Readers Program
    Children in grades 1-6 are invited to practice reading aloud in small groups to registered therapy dogs on three Saturdays--Feb. 1, March 7, and April 4--at Abington Free Library. Two sessions--10:15-10:45 a.m. and 11:00-11:30 a.m.--will be offered on each date in the library's Community Room.   • Practice SAT Test
    Saturday, Feb. 15 10 am - 1:30 pm. For sophomores and juniors. At the Abington Free Library, administered by Intellegym. Take a free full-length practice SAT exam, proctored under authentic conditions. Score reports and detailed error analysis from Intellegym's SAT Diagnostic Grader will be available on the same day.   • MLK Day Free Family Festival at Woodmere Art Museum
    On Monday, January 20, noon-4 p.m., join us at Woodmere Art Museum for a MLK Day Celebration! Art making will be inspired by stories of civil rights.     We'll discuss ways we can help kids to break away from cultural pressures. - The teenage brain is built to take risks. How can we encourage smart choices? - Vaping can involve flavored liquids, nicotine, or cannabis. We'll learn about the implications of each. We'll be joined by Patrick Dowling, LPC, a licensed clinician who works with adolescents and young adults. We will also be joined by a prevention specialist from Caron Treatment Center.
