Judge Gary Silow, Abington Senior High School Class of 1969, Continues the Law and Government Series with Abington Students Abington Senior High School Class of 1969 alumnus, the Honorable Gary Silow, has been presenting Abington students with a unique opportunity to meet and interact with experts in the field of law and government. Judge Silow and Abington Senior High School Principal Mr. Angelo Berrios collaborated and developed the law and government program to provide students with exposure to the different career pathways in the field of law. This real-world exposure to our government and legal system at work is the kind of experiential learning that brings the key concepts and principles of the Advanced Placement (AP) Government course to life for students.
Judge Silow met first with the students on February 8th , which was followed by an expert panel presentation and discussion last week with local notables. They included: Judge Silow; Judge Richard Haaz, class of 1971–Abington, Mr. Stuart Ryan, Asst. District Attorney for Montgomery County, and Common Pleas Court Judge Garrett Page, Abington resident. In addition to the panel discussion moderated by Judge Silow, students interacted with the participants after the discussion. Students will continue in the series by participating in visits to the Montgomery County Courthouse on April 16, 17 & 18, 2018.
