ALL STUDENTS: BEFORE 8:00 a.m. ALL STUDENTS must enter the building through Cafeteria A or B and report directly to their first period class. After 8:00 a.m. students must enter the building via the main entrance at the flag pole, be prepared to show their student i.d., and report to the Attendance Office in A115 for a late pass. Berrios

STUDENT PARKING REGISTRATION: Parking registration forms are available in room A-104 FOR JUNIORS AND SENIORS ONLY. If you plan on parking in the student lot, you must have a 2017-2018 parking sticker displayed on your car or risk being ticketed by the Abington Police Department and/or suspension from school. Issuance of tickets to any student that does not have a current sticker displayed will begin shortly. NO PARKING IN THE STAFF PARKING LOT IS PERMITTED AT ANY TIME! Parking stickers are being sold in room A-104 by Mrs. Rose

KEY CLUB: Attention all students: if you missed out on the Key Club’s April 15th Service Learning Day event, we have another one on Saturday, April 21st: Special Athletes Tournament at Hatboro-Horsham High School. Stop by room 117 for more information, or see Mrs. Peters, Miss Ritterman, or Emma Mesko. Peters

Jazz Band will be selling pretzels after school today in Cafeteria A. Cost is $1.00 each. DeTato

FIELD HOCKEY: ANYONE in 8th thru 11th grades who are interested in trying out for the high school field Hockey team this upcoming fall should attend a meeting on Thursday April 26th at 3:15PM in Room P-216. Important information will be discussed. Coach Small

The Creative Writing Club’s Poetry Slam will take place in room 156 after school on Thursday, April 26th. Anyone looking to perform a poem should stop by room 156 to sign up as soon as possible. Arrive that day with your poem in hand and your performance rehearsed. Any student is welcome to participate. Turner

ABINGTON BUDDIES CLUB: The Abington Buddies along with the Athletes Helping Athletes will be meeting in the gym TODAY, April 18th, at 2:45 for a Fun Hour! Any questions see Mrs. McGee or Mrs. Jedlinski

THE AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE CLUB: The American Sign Language Club will be meeting on Thursday, April 19th, at 2:45 in Room S9. New members are always welcome. Any questions see Ms. Forsythe or Mrs. Jedlinski

The entire Abington School District family is invited to the 10th Annual Armstrong Invitational Track Meet this Friday, April 20th, starting at 3:30pm, continuing under the lights at the Abington High School Schwarzman Stadium. This event will feature the fastest track athletes in the region! PA# 1 Rorie Spencer, PA# 2, PA#4 Abington 4×400 and 4X800m Relays respectively. Beginning at 3:30 pm you will be able to cheer on your home team! Admission is free. You can also support your team by buying and eating delicious hamburgers, hotdogs, and jerk chicken! You can even purchase a commemorative tee shirt to remember this amazing experience! So, don’t forget to mark the date, this Friday, April 20th to spend time with friends and family supporting the Abington High School Track Team! See you there! Coach Neely

If you did not receive your t-shirt, please see Mrs. McGee in the library – she has them. The event TODAY will feature volleyball, hockey, basketball, softball, a photo opp station, pizza, and more! Come out for an hour of fun TODAY!

VIBE/IMAGINE: will be hosting a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Monday, April 30th, from 3pm-5pm in the gym. Sign up in café A during any lunch period. Last day to sign up is Wednesday April 25th. See any VIBE/IMAGINE member for rules and details.

VIBE/IMAGINE: The next VIBE/IMAGINE meeting will be held TODAY, April 18th, after school in the library classroom. We will be working on resume writing and cover letters so come prepared to work. Cooper

SPRING CAMPUS TOURS: Spring is here, and it’s time for Juniors to jump on the opportunity to visit local colleges.
The Guidance Department is offering 3 spring campus tours. The University of Pennsylvania Campus Tour is taking place on Tuesday, April 24th. On Thursday, April 26th there will be a campus tour of La Salle University, and on Tuesday, May 1st we will head to Ursinus College. See your guidance counselor for a permission form and for details on GPA requirements. Make sure to sign up on Naviance to reserve your space, as spots will fill quickly. Williams

LEO CLUB’S SPRING ESCAPE ROOM EVENT: Do you and your friends want to participate in an Escape Room event? Do you and your friends want a free pizza party?
Come sign up for Leo Club’s spring Escape Room event! The event is on Thursday, April 19th after school, and the winning team gets a pizza party! See Ms. Katz in room 223 to sign up or ask questions! Katz

JUNIOR PROM: The annual Junior Prom will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 in the senior high school gym from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. We hope that members of the Class of 2019 and their guests will have an enjoyable and memorable evening as they participate in this significant high school tradition.

The cost of a ticket is $25 per person. Tickets will be on sale from Thursday, April 19 until Thursday, April 26 in Cafeteria A during lunches. Tickets will not be sold at the door. If you are taking a date from another school, please stop by Mr. Fiorino’s office to get a form that your date will need to have completed. Fiorino

ENVIROTHON: Attention any high school student who is interested in competing in this years Envirothon- Please contact Mrs. Rudy at the junior high ASAP. You can email Mrs. Rudy if you are interested. The competition will be held on May 2nd this year and we will be taking 3 teams of 5, so space is limited. Palmer

SERVICE AWARDS FOR GRADES K-12, 2018: Deadline for submission: May 1, 2018
Students who are applying for Service Awards for 2018 must submit a COPY of their Service Log no later than May 1. This is a hard and fast deadline and late forms cannot be accepted. Students are permitted to estimate their May hours on the log sheet–please be sure that all information is completed on both sides of the form. Students ages 14-15 need a minimum of 30 hours to be eligible for an award. Students ages 16 and older need at least 50 hours to be eligible for an award. Copies of the log sheet can be submitted in the social studies office, S101A or to your social studies teacher. Petersen

ABINGTON GIRLS’ LACROSSE TEAM: The Abington Girls’ Lacrosse team is selling t-shirts to raise funds for Autism Awareness. Pre-sales will occur in cafeteria A during lunch periods. The shirts are $10 and if you wear the shirt to the Wednesday, April 25th night games in Schwarzman Stadium, you will be admitted FREE. This is a doubleheader event so the t-shirt will provide free admission to the Boys’ Varsity lacrosse game against Upper Dublin at 5:30 PM AND the Girls’ Varsity game against Wissahickon at 7:00 PM.
Please help the team raise funds and awareness for this meaningful cause! McGee

ATTENTION JUNIORS: The junior prom is scheduled for April 28th. Students must have less than 10 total disciplinary obligations to be eligible to purchase a ticket for this great event. Disciplinary obligations are defined as b-lunches and/or detentions. Please take steps now to be eligible for participation in the junior prom. Fiorino
