ALL STUDENTS: BEFORE 8:00 a.m. ALL STUDENTS must enter the building through Cafeteria A and report directly to their first period class. AFTER 8:00 a.m., students must enter the building via the main entrance at the flag pole, be prepared to show your student ID., and report to the Attendance Office in A115 for a late pass.

Hey ASHS! There are many volunteer opportunities and service learning resources for students in grades 9-11 posted on the Service Learning Opportunities web page: https://www.abington.k12.pa.us/resources/service-learning/service-learning-opportunities/ . We need volunteers to help with the concession stand at Basketball games. Please sign up with Ms. Paules. Abington Social Club is looking for volunteers to assist with their monthly dances for people with special needs. Overlook is looking for Sr. High students to help with their after school enrichment program. Roslyn, Rydal, Copper Beech and Overlook all have upcoming dances or evening events for which they need volunteers. Girls On The Run of Montgomery County is looking for Coaches and volunteers to help with Coach training. Please visit the Service Learning Opportunities Webpage for more information and to sign up.

BOYS BASKETBALL SNACK STAND: Attention AHS students! We need helpers to work the snack stand at boys basketball games. Volunteers would be needed from 530pm-8pm during home games. You will be granted free admission to the game and service hours. Please see Ms. Paules in A115 to sign up. Helpers are needed on the following dates:
Thursday, January 17th, Friday, January 25th, Tuesday, February 5th

BOYS LACROSSE – Boys in 9th thru 12th grades who are interested in trying out for the High School Boys Lacrosse team should attend a meeting on Wednesday January 16th at 3:15PM in Room P-216, 2nd floor of the gym wing at the high school. The meeting will be important, please plan to attend.

GET A FORM: Attention Seniors! If you applied to a college with the regular decision deadline and used the Common Application, you will need to submit a mid-year report. Please see your counselor to obtain the mid-year report form, which needs to be signed off by a parent or guardian. Once returned, your counselors will send your mid-year reports out as soon as semester grades become available.

Reading Olympics: We have a meeting TODAY, Monday January 14 after school in the library.

GARDEN CLUB: There will be a Garden Club meeting TODAY, Monday, January 14 immediately after school in room S-102.

Society of Women Engineers will be meeting after school TODAY, Monday, January 14th in Room 162! New members are welcome to attend.

Sneaker Club Members: Our next meeting will be held TODAY, Monday January 14th after school in Rm. 124. There are a variety of things we need to discuss and we will be taking our picture for the yearbook. Shaheen will be sending out more information about the theme. See you there!

RED CROSS CLUB: The Red Cross Club will meet on Wednesday January 16th after school to discuss the Arrive Alive program. Any students interested in planning and/or presenting the program should attend. The meeting will be at 2:45 in room 132. (cycle through the following closing remarks)

ALEX’S LEMONADE: Support the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation by participating in the official Alex’s Lemonade Stand club T-Shirt design contest! Pick up a template from the library, 137, s110, s111 or the Art Room, drop off your submissions outside of room S-111. Winner gets a free T-Shirt and a WaWa gift card!

KEY CLUB: Attention all Key Club Members–the monthly Abington Social Group dance will be on Saturday, January 19th. Sign-up outside room 117.

MATH CLUB: Attention, members of the Math Club. The next meeting of the Math Club will be this Wednesday after school at 2:45 in Room 113.

JUNIOR CLASS: There will be a Junior Class Council meeting after school in the library on Wednesday, January 16. Please come to discuss upcoming events and help us with junior class event planning and fundraising. Anyone in the junior class is welcome to join.

HARK: Friendship is calling! Do you hear it? If you don’t hear it and want to find out what friendship sounds like, come to the January meeting of the Friends Club! We will meet on Thursday, 1/17, after school in room S-103. Our guest lecture series on friendship will return as Mr. Banks delivers a rousing speech on a very specific historical friendship. Our Friendly Suggestion Box will also be present so we can come up with new and exciting ways to spread friendship throughout Abington faster than the flu. If you can’t make it, see Mr. MacNair in the Social Studies Wing for more information.

SOPHOMORE CLASS COUNCIL MEETING: There will be a Sophomore Class Council Meeting on Wednesday, January 23rd at 7:00 am in the Library Classroom. All Sophomores are welcomed to attend. We will be discussing Soph Hop and fundraisers.

LEO CLUB: We are holding a clothing drive and collecting new and gently used casual men’s clothing. There is a red collection box in Cafeteria A. Please consider donating to this worthwhile cause. Thank you.
