ALL STUDENTS: BEFORE 8:00 a.m. ALL STUDENTS must enter the building through Cafeteria A and report directly to their first period class. AFTER 8:00 a.m., students must enter the building via the main entrance at the flag pole, be prepared to show your student ID., and report to the Attendance Office in A115 for a late pass.
Hey ASHS! There are many volunteer opportunities and service learning resources for students in grades 9-11 posted on the Service Learning Opportunities web page: https://www.abington.k12.pa.us/resources/service-learning/service-learning-opportunities/ . We need volunteers to help with the concession stand at Basketball games. Please sign up with Ms. Paules. Abington Social Club is looking for volunteers to assist with their monthly dances for people with special needs. Overlook is having Math night and a Snowball dance at the end of January. Overlook is also seeking students to assist with their after school enrichment program. Copper Beech is looking for volunteers for their Dance on February 8th., Girls On The Run of Montgomery County is looking for Coaches and volunteers to help with Coach training. BOYS BASKETBALL SNACK STAND: Attention AHS students! We need helpers to work the snack stand at boys basketball games. Volunteers would be needed from 530pm-8pm during home games. You will be granted free admission to the game and service hours. Please see Ms. Paules in A115 to sign up. Helpers are needed on the following dates:
Tuesday, January 15th, Thursday, January 17th, Friday,
January 25th, Tuesday, February 5th
KEY CLUB: Attention all Key Club members – our monthly member meeting will be TODAY, Wednesday, January 9th at 2:45 pm in room M101, not the Audion!
BOYS SOCCER: Anyone interested in trying out for the High School Soccer team in the fall should attend a meeting TODAY, Wednesday January 9th at 3:15PM in Room P-216, 2nd floor of the gym wing at the high school.
Meeting will be important, offseason information will be discussed.
BUDDIES CLUB: Buddies Club will be holding their next meeting TODAY, Wednesday, January 9th in the audion. If your already a Buddy or would like to become one, we hope to see you on Wednesday.
Creative Writing Club: We have a meeting after school in the library TODAY, Wednesday January 9. New members are welcome to join us.
FAAD: Any students in FAAD who did not receive their permission slips, please see Mrs. White in P-216. All forms need to be filled out and signed ASAP.
BOYS LACROSSE – Boys in 9th thru 12th grades who are interested in trying out for the High School Boys Lacrosse team should attend a meeting on Wednesday January 16th at 3:15PM in Room P-216, 2nd floor of the gym wing at the high school. The meeting will be important, please plan to attend.
VIBE/IMAGINE: The next VIBE/IMAGINE meeting will be held TODAY, Wed., January 9th after school in room 242. We will begin work on the cultural fair.
ICE HOCKEY NEWS: Last Friday night the Ice Hockey team defeated Pennsbury High School 7-4 holding off a late comeback surge before Freshman Tom Rourke sealed the victory with an empty net goal. Ryan Gosselin and Nate Broskley also each had a goal and assist. Perry Carpenter increased his total points by adding 4 goals and 1 assist in the game. Perry’s total high school career points now exceeds 100 points! Goaltender Jacob Snellingburg had 36 saves. The team next takes on Central Bucks West this Thursday night.
GET A FORM: Attention Seniors! If you applied to a college with the regular decision deadline and used the Common Application, you will need to submit a mid-year report. Please see your counselor to obtain the mid-year report form, which needs to be signed off by a parent or guardian. Once returned, your counselors will send your mid-year reports out as soon as semester grades become available.
Reading Olympics: We have a meeting on Monday January 14 after school in the library.
