ALL STUDENTS: BEFORE 8:00 a.m. ALL STUDENTS must enter the building through Cafeteria A or B and report directly to their first period class. AFTER 8:00 a.m. students must enter the building via the main entrance at the flag pole, be prepared to show your student ID., and report to the Attendance Office in A115 for a late pass.

Hey ASHS! There are many volunteer opportunities and service learning resources for students in grades 9-11 posted on the Service Learning Opportunities web page: https://www.abington.k12.pa.us/resources/service-learning/service-learning-opportunities/ Do you like to work with kids? Tuesday October 16 the Parent group for Gifted students is looking students to run the childcare during their meeting. Friends of Cheltenham Tennis needs help with their after school program. No Tennis experience necessary. Holy Redeemer Health System needs student volunteers for their Fire Prevention Open House on Thursday 10/11; Volunteers are needed to assist with the HV Presbyterian Church Run/Walk on Saturday 10/13, Keswick village business association needs volunteers for their Fall Fest on 10/13. Volunteers are needed for Ardsley Family Day on 10/20. On Friday 10/26 we have 3 different events in need of many, many volunteers: Rydal Fall Fest, Copper Beech Fall Fest and the Ferocious Fighters Haunted Hotel. HOMECOMING DANCE: Homecoming Dance tickets will be on sale in Cafeteria A during lunch periods THIS WEEK and in cafeteria B during the activity fair on Wednesday. Cost per ticket is $15. If you plan on bringing a student from another school you must stop into your assistant principal’s office to get a form BEFORE purchasing your tickets. The Homecoming Dance will take place on Saturday, October 13th from 7:00-10:00 p.m.

YOUNG REPUBLICANS: There will be a Young Republicans meeting TODAY, Thursday, October 11th after school at 2:45 in Room 129. We will be discussing the Trunk or Treat and upcoming service opportunities.

LEO CLUB: We have a meeting TODAY, Thursday, October 11th right after school in room 223. We have a lot of activities upcoming, so be there! Snacks provided.

CLASS OF 2020: Juniors: Keep on selling the items for the Claire’s Gourmet fundraiser. Raise money for your class, the Class of 2020, and earn incentives for yourself as you make more and more sales. Orders are due on October 15.

T-SHIRTS FOR SALE: Stop by the table in Cafeteria A to purchase your BEAT CHELTENHAM t-shirts all week (Monday, October 8 until Friday, October 12). Quantities and sizes are limited so buy them early. Once they are gone, they are gone! Short sleeves are $10, long sleeves are $15 or buy both for $20!

KEY CLUB: Attention all students – The Key Club will be having its first Pillow Polo tournament on Wednesday, October 17th at 3pm in the gym. Teams of 5 or 6 can pick up a registration packet from Mrs. Davidoff (room 117) or Mrs. Peters (room 201). Forms and money must be turned in to either teacher by Monday, October 15th! All proceeds benefit the Key Club children’s charities!

Engineering: Next meeting will be on Tues Oct 16th before school in Rm 162 from 7:10 to 7:30 am. E-Team go-carts and SWE Zero Robotics contest will be discussed.

Teachers: Please consider donating Halloween candy to support the Trunk or Treat. All candy donations can be dropped off in the mailroom, or in room S-106. In addition, if you can bring in used plastic gallon containers (i.e. milk or water jugs), they can be dropped off in the same location.

Students: Please drop off used plastic gallon containers. i.e., milk jugs or water jugs. Make sure all containers have been cleaned prior to donating. Donations can be dropped off in room S-106.

NAMI CLUB: Please join us TODAY, Thursday, October 11th in S108 for the NAMI Club meeting. All are welcome! We’ll be planning Trunk or Treat and the the Haunted Hallway. Our theme is “Be Wicked Kind” and we will be giving out Random Acts of Kindness challenges along with candy! We need your help making this event fun!

SPANISH CLUB: On Tuesday, October 16, the Spanish Club will meet after school in room 245 to plan our next meeting about Venezuela. We hope to see you there.

The 2018 Homecoming Court has been chosen- now it’s time for you to vote! All AHS students are eligible to vote! Voting for Homecoming Court will be available from 3pm Friday, October 5th until Noon on Friday, October 12th. The entire student body (Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores) is eligible to vote in this final election.

All voting will be online, using the “Abington Votes” system. Please follow these directions to vote:

1. Go to www.abington.k12.pa.us/vote
2. You will be prompted to login using your Google login information
3. After logging in you will see the ballot for Homecoming King and Queen
4. Please vote for one candidate for Homecoming Queen and one candidate for Homecoming King.
5. The Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at the Homecoming Football Game on Friday, October 12th.

H2O for Life: – There will be an H2O Club Meeting on Monday October 22 in room 126 after school. Come hear about water borne diseases and learn how you can help support our project.

PSYCHOLOGY CLUB: The Psychology Club will be holding their next meeting on Tues. Oct. 16th after school in rm S111. We will be preparing activities for the Breast Cancer Awareness game. New members are always welcome!
