ALL STUDENTS: BEFORE 8:00 a.m. ALL STUDENTS must enter the building through Cafeteria A and report directly to their first period class. AFTER 8:00 a.m., students must enter the building via the main entrance at the flag pole, be prepared to show your student ID., and report to the Attendance Office in A115 for a late pass.
Hey ASHS! There are many volunteer opportunities and service learning resources for students in grades 9-11 posted on the Service Learning Opportunities web page: https://www.abington.k12.pa.us/resources/service-learning/service-learning-opportunities/ The Abington Educational Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with their Kindness Campaign Obstacle Race on Saturday December 1. Teams of 4 can also sign up to compete in the races by emailing ASD teacher Mr. Staszkiw at firstname.lastname@example.org The cost to participate in the fundraiser race is $40 per team. On the service learning web page you will see there are also many on-going opportunities in need of volunteers.Friends of Cheltenham Tennis needs help with their after school program. No Tennis experience necessary. Artists are needed to help with a painting project at McKinley Elementary school. There are also on-going tutoring at the Jr. High after school and volunteers needed to help with Tech assistance at Abington Library. Pegasus Riding Academy is looking for volunteers to assist their special needs riders and their horses. Please visit the Service Learning Opportunities Webpage for more information and to sign up.
BIOENGENE CLUB: The BioEnGene Club will be having their next meeting on Wednesday, November 28th after school. Join us in room 129 as we plan our first workshops for the year! All interested students are welcome!
YOUNG REPUBLICANS: Attention Young Republicans: We will be meeting on Wednesday, November 28 at 7:15 AM in Room 129 to take our group photo for the yearbook. Please be prompt!
NAMI CLUB: NAMI Club will meet on Thursday, November 29 in S108. We will have a guest speaker from NAMI Montgomery County and finish preparations for We Belong Week. All are welcome to attend!
FRENCH CLUB: Attention French Club members, we will watch our movie this Wednesday, November 28 after school in Room 252. We will also discuss December activities. Au revoir!
MATH CLUB: Attention, members of the Math Club. The next meeting of the Math Club will be this Wednesday, November 28 after school at 2:45 in Room 220.
Mini-THON: Mini-THON will be hosting a fundraiser at SNAP Pizza in Jenkintown from 4:00 – 8:00 on Thursday November 29th. 50% of the proceeds will be donated back to mini-THON. You must have a copy of the attached flyer with you!
NHS: This is a reminder that there will be an NHS meeting right after school on Wednesday November 28 in the Audion. We will have a guest speaker and the meeting should not last longer than 3:30.
LEMON CLUB: The lemon club will be selling baked goods in Cafe A after school from Monday to Friday. All proceeds will be donated to the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
FOOTBALL: All Football players should meet on Thursday November 29 immediately after school in Classroom S-105.
Attention Winter Sports Athletes: Opt-out begins next Tuesday 12/4. The opt-out form will be posted on the ATHLETIC’S OFFICE door this Thursday and Friday. Again, Opt-out will begin on Tuesday, December 4 and you must complete the opt-out form by this Friday to ensure you’re assigned a study hall. See Mrs. Panasiuk in the Athletics office if you have any questions or your name does not appear on the list.
CLASS OF 2021: The Class of 2021 is wrapping up their Poinsettia Sale Fundraiser. There are just two days left to place your order for gorgeous, high quality poinsettias, grown locally by Kremp Florist. All orders must be in by November 28th, and plants will be available for pick up on December 12th. Checks made payable to Abington Senior High School. Orders can be emailed to Gretchen Hansen at email@example.com or dropped off at the front receptionist office. Thank you in advance for supporting the Class of 2021!
