SENIOR CLASS: Attention Class of 2020. Please go to the Class of 2020 Google Classroom to vote for your favorite Class T-shirt design. See Ms. Summers or Mrs. Myslinski if you have questions.
MINI-THON: Mini-THON will be hosting a clothing drive from now through November 9th. Please donate any used clothes, shoes, jackets, et cetera in a 13-gallon sized trash bag. You can drop off your bags to Mr. Zanetti in room 118 or Mrs. Chakler in room 231. All donations will go to shelters in the local Philadelphia region
PSYCHOLOGY CLUB: There will be a psychology club meeting after school in room S111 TODAY, Thursday November 7th at 2:45. We will be working on a November activity. New members are always welcome!
SERVICE: There are two service award opportunities currently posed on the service-learning opportunities web page. Prudential Spirit of the Community awards deadline of November 5 has passed, but the 2019 Honorable Jon Fox Emerging Servant Leadership Award has a deadline of 11/9. https://www.abington.k12.pa.us/resources/service-learning/service-learning-opportunities/ Please follow the instructions carefully the opportunity that is still open.
KEY CLUB: Attention ALL Key Club members – our monthly member meeting will be on Wednesday, November 20th at 2:45pm in the CAFETERIA A. We’ll be taking our yearbook picture so please wear Abington gear!
VIBE/IMAGINE: The next VIBE/IMAGINE meeting will be held TODAY, Thursday Nov.7th after school in the pool rooms. Come out and hear from your peers about colleges and get information on upcoming trips.
JAZZ BAND AUDITIONS: All those planning to audition for the ASHS Jazz Band are reminded that audition sign-up sheets will be up starting today through next Friday, 11/8. Please sign up for the appropriate audition day. If you need more information or special arrangements, see Mr. DeTato.
CREATIVE WRITING CLUB: Meeting of the Creative Writing Club TODAY, Thursday, Nov 7th, after school in Room 225. Come and wax poetic with Ms. Boland and our other creative writers. Fabulous snacks included.
BASEBALL – Baseball will have voluntary practice for 9th thru 12th graders TODAY, Thursday November 7th from 8-10PM at the Senior High Gym. If you are interested in trying out for the team, please plan to attend.
FAAD: Any students who would still like to sign up for FAAD, please see Mrs. White in P-216 for a form.
MINI-THON: Mini-THON will be hosting its annual Flag Football tournament on Wednesday November 20th and Thursday November 21st. All teams must have 7 players and there must be at least one male and one female per team. Registration can be found on the mini-THON website. Cost is $5/player. Any questions, see Mrs. Chakler in room 231.
COLLEGE TOUR: Listen up Juniors and Seniors! The fall college tour is happening on Wed. Nov. 13th to Penn State Abington. Sign up on Naviance AND get your permission slip from Rm. 254. Don’t forget to turn in your permission form asap, as spots fill quickly.
CAREER CHATTER: The library will be hosting another Career Chatter workshop on Thursday November 14. Our panelists include a Common Pleas Court Judge, a government official for Abington Township, 2 local entrepreneurs, a pharmacist, a computer software engineer and an Abington teacher. Please stop by the library to sign up for this event.
Attention Fall Sports Opt-Out Athletes: This Friday 11/8 is the last day of the fall opt-out session. All students should report to their respective PE classes starting on Monday 11/11 and be prepared to participate even if you play a winter sport. Students who are not present in PE class starting this coming Monday 11/11 will earn a “0” for the class period. Winter athletes should listen for a follow-up announcement on the opt-out process for the upcoming winter season. See your PE teacher or Mrs. Panasiuk if you have questions.
SENIOR PROFILES: The Senior profiles and the Senior superlatives’ Google forms are on the Senior Class classroom. The Senior’s profiles are due November 30th. Make sure to submit your profile before the deadline. Thank you.
