ALL STUDENTS: BEFORE 8:00 a.m. ALL STUDENTS must enter the building through Cafeteria A and report directly to their first period class. AFTER 8:00 a.m., students must enter the building via the main entrance at the flag pole, be prepared to show your student ID., and report to the Attendance Office in A115 for a late pass.

Hey ASHS! There are many volunteer opportunities and service learning resources for students in grades 9-11 posted on the Service Learning Opportunities web page: https://www.abington.k12.pa.us/resources/service-learning/service-learning-opportunities/ Abington Social Club is looking for volunteers to assist with their montly dances for people with special needs. Artists are needed to help with a painting project at McKinley Elementary school. There are also on-going tutoring at the Jr. High after school and volunteers needed to help with Tech assistance at Abington Library. Pegasus Riding Academy is looking for volunteers to assist their special needs riders and their horses. Please visit the Service Learning Opportunities Webpage for more information and to sign up.

Attention Winter Sports Athletes: Opt-out begins this Tuesday 12/4 and runs through the end of February. You must complete the opt-out form posted on the ATHLETICS’ OFFICE door to ensure you’re assigned a study hall. Beginning this Tuesday, Check the list in the PE lobby for your study hall assignment where you are expected to report for the duration of winter opt-out. See Mrs. Panasiuk in the Athletics office if you have any questions or your name does not appear on the list.

KEY CLUB: Attention all Key Club Board members and Officers – our monthly member meeting is Wednesday, December 5th at 2:45pm in room 117. Snacks will be provided so see you there!

KEY CLUBBERS: Attention all Key Clubbers – need some service hours? The Kiwanis Club’s Breakfast with Santa needs volunteers from 7am – 12pm on Saturday, December 8th at the Knights of Columbus in Glenside. Breakfast will be served, and sign-ups are outside room 117. SENIOR SUPERLATIVES: Attention Seniors: the online ballot is now open for senior superlatives. You have one week left to vote for your fellow seniors in many categories. Just go online to the Abington home page. Add the word vote to the end of the web address and you’re all set. On the chromebook simply click on the icon for Abington Votes. Then tell your friend to vote if they are a senior.”

LEO CLUB: The Leo Club will hold a meeting on Tuesday December 4th after school in room 223. We will be making sandwiches to provide to a local food pantry. Join us for some fun and service hours. See Ms. Katz with any questions.

ICE HOCKEY: Ice Hockey earned its first win of the season last night against Souderton High School. The team scored 9 goals on 36 shots and was led by senior goal scorers Gavin O’Donnell, Perry Carpenter, Ryan Gosselin, Shawn Lombardo and Dan Staley. Sophomore Colin Bruton also added a goal.

FIREFIGHTERS CLUB: Firefighters have to enter hazardous and foreign environments to save lives. We will be demonstrating some equipment and techniques they use to get in and out safe on Tuesday December 4th afternoon in room 132. Students will have chance to try on gear and navigate an obstacle course while wearing firefighting gear. Members should bring gear if possible, spare sets will be available. All are welcome!

SWAN: December 4th there will be a brief SWAN meeting after school in room 140 to plan our upcoming fundraiser. We will be supporting grieving mothers during the holiday season. Please come if interested.

Senior Class T-shirts and Hoodies can be ordered until Friday, December 7th. Please get a copy of the order form from the bulletin board outside of Officer Gibbs’ office or from Mrs. Haasz in the office. Order forms and payments can be returned to Mrs. Haasz, or Mr. Dillon or Ms. Lips.
