Dr. Damon R. Jordan, Principal
Dr. Jordan’s teaching career began in the Philadelphia School District where he was a fourth grade teacher for six months at Bluford Elementary School. He then joined Abington School District in 1998 as a teacher of grades five and six at Willow Hill Elementary for five years. In addition, Dr. Jordan also served in the capacity of a School Reform Coordinator at Willow Hill Elementary for two years.
Dr. Jordan was the Curriculum Specialist at Overlook Elementary for two and a half years, which included a five month assignment as Acting Principal, before accepting his current appointment as Principal of Willow Hill Elementary in 2008.
Dr. Jordan graduated with honors from West Chester State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. He also received his Master of Arts in Education from Gratz College and his Principal Certification from Gwynedd-Mercy College. Dr. Jordan earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Temple University.
As a school leader, Dr. Jordan’s visionary leadership style incorporates strategic planning, collaborative decision-making, parent-community involvement, along with a sincere belief in student achievement and public education. His philosophy of effective leadership is grounded in the conviction that with the creation and implementation of fully aligned, standards-based instructional systems, coupled with parent and community support, positive results become habitual. His passionate drive to produce steady and continuous improvements in student achievement is his greatest asset.
